"Who Framed Jimmy Neutron?" is the first half of the 16th episode from Season 3.

Plot[]

Jimmy is framed for a break in at the bank and is sent to juvie. When Carl and Sheen attempt to free him from his incarceration, the three boys end up on a chain gang together. In order to get to town and prove Jimmy’s innocence, the boys must race through the backwoods of Retroville chained to each other with the warden Bueford Lee Stormshuckle in hot pursuit. When they try to get to the lab, Officer Tubbs and his partner, are guarding the front yard of Jimmy's house, they decide to use Cindy's computer. When Jimmy looks up the man who framed him and it turns out that it was Stormshuckle. Sheen accidentally calls him on the phone and Stormshuckle bursts into Cindy's room and tries to get rid of the evidence. When Stormshuckle brings the kids to the cops to take them back to juvie, he pulls out a fresh dollar bill, which is the same type of bill that was stolen from the bank, exposing Stormshuckle as the culprit and freeing Jimmy from jail.

The next day, Jimmy, Carl, Sheen, and the Banjo Playing Boy then go to the state prison, where they gloat at their former captor. Stormshuckle swears revenge while the boys listen to Banjo Playing Boy playing a song.

Trivia[]

  • The episode Who Framed Jimmy Neutron?/Flippy premiered in the U.S. as the fifth and final episode of the 5 New Jimmys"' marathon event in January 2006.[1]
  • This episode's title is a parody of the 1988 mystery comedy film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
  • During the bear chase, the music played is to the tune of "Yakety Sax", the theme song for The Benny Hill Show.
    • The same song is used in a video game plays while Jimmy is wearing the speed shoes as shown at 0:55.
  • The default search engine seen at the internet cafe in the woods, called "Yokel!", is an obvious parody of Yahoo!. However, the fact that all the letters are in different colors is also a reference to Google.
  • The music used during the title card sequence sounds like "Bad Boys" (theme song from Cops) or "Tramp" (specifically Salt n Pepa's version).
  • When Jimmy naively questions who would frame him, Sheen mentions the Junkman, Professor Calamitous, Sydney Moist, Beautiful Gorgeous, Baby Eddie, and the Space Bandits. Carl even includes Cindy.
  • Jimmy uses Carl's glasses to shine a flashlight thru the lenses to distract the Warden. The same method was used to distract the Pizza Monster in "Sleepless in Retroville".
  • It remains unknown why Stormshuckle tried to frame Jimmy in the first place.
    • This has led to many speculations among fans; to name a few of them:
      • Jimmy was just easy to frame. Since Jimmy is a well-known genius, it was easy to leave evidence behind that would unequivocally point to him as the perpetrator.
      • Stormshuckle was paid by one of Jimmy's enemies in an attempt to get revenge.
      • Stormshuckle wanted the money to fix up the prison (he even mentioned budget cuts as the reason for only having a boombox instead of a real pack of dogs) and simply used Jimmy as scapegoat.
  • A Twonkie can be seen during the bear chase. Captain Betty also appears when the bear chases everyone around and around.
  • Sheen's list of suspects foreshadowed the League of Villains (excluding Dr. Moist).
  • Libby and Goddard don't appear in this episode, although Goddard was mentioned at some point.
  • The pajamas Cindy wears while watching the news resembled her karate outfit from "One of Us".
  • Although this episode was released in 2006, you can actually see "Copyright 2003 Viacom International, Inc." at the end of the credits. This means that the episode was produced in 2003.
  • Bueford Lee Stormshuckle is voiced by Bill Farmer.
  • Carl, Sheen, and Jimmy being chained to each other could be in reference to O, Brother, Where Art Thou?, which is another story of 3 prisoners chained to each other.
  • When Sheen is intimidating the police officers outside Jimmy's lab, he shouts "Top of the world, Ma!", an often misquoted line from the 1949 film White Heat.

Goofs[]

  • How could Stormshuckle be blinded by the sun if he's wearing shades?
