"Jimmy Goes to College" is the sixth episode of Season 3.
Plot[]
Jimmy is showing everyone unstable molecules, but nobody seems to be interested. Ms. Fowl says she was going to teach the class about unstable molecules, but then decided not to, because it was too difficult for the other students, who aren't so bright about it. So, Carl suggests the class that will just make macaroni sculptures instead. Everyone is happy except for Jimmy. As Cindy tries to get rid of the unstable molecules, but accidentally opens the lid where it causes the molecules to bounce everywhere in the classroom and pelts Carl's Macaroni box, one of the student's face and Jimmy. Cindy and Libby walks up to him and says they both like it as they leave, making Jimmy disappointed.
When Jimmy returns home, until he sees someone using his cheese ray after the stranger turns the piano into a cheese. He then realizes that the stranger was a professor at an advanced physics college, named Dean Kane, and that his parents explains that they let him into his house to show Jimmy's inventions. The professor states he wants Jimmy to attend his college to help the college win a coveted grant. Jimmy unwittingly decides that he wants to go to college, that way, people will finally respect him and the wonders of science.
At college, Jimmy arrives in the middle of a student's presentation using his jet pack, and starts explaining about his jet pack, but then realizes that everyone already knows how to use a jet pack and hangs it up with others. Jimmy claims that this college will be fun, only for everyone in the class to laugh, much to Jimmy's embarrassment. Dean Kane, the professor introduced Jimmy to the class, as well as mentioning he will be here to help win the college the grant award. Seymour, the student whose presentation was interrupted showed his dissatisfaction to Dean Kane as he is class president and should be the one to win this year's grant. Once the class begins, the professor starts asking questions and picks Jimmy who starts answering them correctly. Everyone in the class is quite impressed, except Seymour, who was jealous of Jimmy's extremely high intelligence. Seymour then used some small device that makes Jimmy's jet pack malfunction and causes chaos in the class, which makes everyone including the professor get mad at Jimmy while he sadly starts missing his old school and leaves the class. Seymour begins to rant about his plan to get rid of Jimmy in front everyone in class, who utterly shocked at this, he realizes that he's in class where they heard him and walks away.
Back at home, Hugh and Judy are trying not to feel sad about Jimmy, so Hugh plays with a flea circus to cope. Unfortunately, Hugh accidentally kills them with his tears while crying sadly after Judy kept mentioning about Jimmy, that makes him crying even more.
Meanwhile, Jimmy arrives late for class again, because he couldn't find his locker, and the computer students dumped his head into the toilet. He tries to find a lab partner, but nobody wants to be his partner except Seymour, who wants to get rid of Jimmy. Seymour puts a chemical into Jimmy's test tubes when Jimmy doesn't notice, and he puts in another chemical, which the test tube explodes causing ice to fly everywhere. Everyone gets mad at him again and a dejected Jimmy sadly says that he hates it there.
Back at home, Carl and Sheen are in the living with Judy expressing their emptiness without Jimmy. They decided they need to go to college too, but they think college is about partying based on the college movies they watched. Hugh ordered more fleas, and he accidentally lets them free (after Sheen threw a cupcake at him chanting "food fight!"), causing everyone in the house (Sheen, Carl, Judy, Goddard and Hugh) to start itching. Jimmy then called them and then Judy tries not to sound upset that he's gone so he doesn't worry about them, which makes Jimmy even more upset, thinking that they don't miss him.
Seymour then comes into Jimmy's room (which is actually a broom closet), started talking to him and notices Jimmy is researching unstable molecules. Seymour secretly rips a page out of Jimmy's notebook, which contains a plan for the invention Jimmy planned on building for the college. Jimmy admitted he couldn't focus on it because of his miserable time in college. Seymour promised Jimmy he would be popular if he joined his fraternity, which Jimmy agreed. Seymour told him in order to pass the initiation, he must take a quick naked streak down the college lab and he'll be one of them. Reluctantly, Jimmy ran naked into the lab not knowing it was occupied by Dean Kane who was showing the wealthy donor Mrs. Moran a laser in hopes she would award the grant to the college. Mrs. Moran wailed at the sight of Jimmy's indecency and got her sleeve stuck to the laser. Jimmy ran toward the machine to shut it down, but Mrs. Moran's panicking caused Jimmy to hit the wrong button, which caused the laser to fire rapidly around the room. After the machine calmed down, everyone was covered in ash. A furious Dean Kane then expelled Jimmy, before Jimmy asked him for some pair of pants.
Back at home, the family and Jimmy's friends were at another flea funeral. Carl and Sheen think they mastered the dance moves and Purple Flurp chugging to be worthy of getting accepted into Jimmy's college. Jimmy called Judy telling him he got expelled from college. His family and friends however cheer as they missed him so much. Before he hung up, Jimmy noticed his notebook has been ripped. He scanned for fingerprints and saw they matched Seymour's. Jimmy realized that Seymour had been the one sabotaging his college experience, and now he's going as far as taking credit for his work. Jimmy then tells Carl and Sheen to come to the college, he then changes a few things on the invention that Seymour stole from him, so that it will launch toilet paper instead. But he doesn't have time to make the changes completely as he heard someone coming and hid. Seymour brought Dean Kane and Mrs. Moran into the lecture hall to show off the unstable molecule machine hoping it will win him the grant. But then Jimmy deactivated his invisibility forcefield to warn Seymour not to activate the machine as the field's density is out of phase and could kill everyone. Dean Kane got suspicious that Jimmy seemed to know so much about Seymour's invention. Seymour refused to admit that this is Jimmy's research and activated the machine. The machine went out of control, firing molecules everywhere (where it disintegrates the wall panel, Dean Kane's podium and Mrs. Moran's purse). While taking cover, Sheen mentioned to Jimmy this wouldn't have happened if he just stuck with building macaroni sculptures. This gave Jimmy the idea of creating adhesive surfaces to neutralize the molecule's explosive properties. He took panels from the machine and used art paste (courtesy of Carl carrying some in his pocket), and the three used the glue shields to capture all the molecules and save everyone.
Dean Kane was pleased with Jimmy's heroics and revoked Jimmy's expulsion. Mrs. Moran also admitted she misjudged Jimmy and awarded the $100,000 grant to the college in his name. Seymour however was expelled from the college for stealing Jimmy's work. Seymour asked if this would go on his permanent record before being pelted with toilet paper by Carl and Sheen. Dean Kane offered Jimmy an opportunity to become a professor at his college. However, Jimmy decided to go back to his old school. Jimmy realized the simplicity of his school's curriculum is what makes him ore motivated to excel in his studies. Dean Kane accepted Jimmy's decision, but offered anything he could to express his gratitude. Jimmy requested to experience a wild college party, and Dean Kane obliged as everybody in the room danced to music. Jimmy then returned home thinking his parents were dancing and said he doesn't need another college party to feel special. Judy explained they were itching from another flea box Hugh dropped. After Jimmy started itching too, Goddard joined in and was scratching his ear as well.

Trivia[]
- Jimmy's interest in studying an "ever-expanding omniverse" is most likely a reference to discovering the existence of other universes in Jimmy Timmy Power Hour.
- This is the second episode to feature nudity (but nothing is shown). The first one is "Brobot".
- When Cindy and Libby were seen at the beginning of the episode, they were not seen again for the rest of the episode
- There are a couple of The Jetsons references in this episode:
- When Dean Kane holding onto Jimmy's jetpack out of control, then he shouts "James! Stop this crazy thing!", which is what happens in the end credits of the original 1962-63 run when George takes Astro for a walk, then Astro notices the cat and chases him, causing George to get stuck on the mechanical floor and George yells "Jane! Stop this crazy thing!"
- Dean Kane yells at Jimmy who throws a frozen flask and destroys lab computers, then he yells "Neutron!!" Just like when George's boss Mr. Spacely yells at him and yells "Jetson!!" if something goes wrong and was George's fault.
- When Jimmy tells Carl and Sheen to come to college, he tells them to bring Goddard, but Goddard wasn't anywhere in the classroom at all. This is likely because Carl and Sheen forgot about him.
- This is the last episode where Goddard talks in his voice. When he speaks, he stands on his hind legs using his front right leg/arm like Sheen or Carl.
- Jimmy covering himself with an exit sign spoofs the situation of the certain UK bumbling funnyman in Room 426.
- Goddard, Carl, and Sheen's chanting of the word "Toga!", is a reference to the 1978 film Animal House.
- A toga is a semicircular piece of cloth worn by men in ancient Rome.
- The college Jimmy goes to is the same one Sheen gets a job as a teacher at the end of "Sheen's Brain".
- The music during the dancing scenes is to the tune of "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen.
- This is the last episode to use the original intro in production order.
- Dean Kane is also a reference to the actor who played Superman in Lois & Clark.
- Hugh fulfills his life-long dream of running a flea circus when Jimmy leaves.
- The name Moran Grant is likely a reference to screenwriter Grant Moran.
- Although this episode was released in 2005, you can actually see "Copyright 2003 Viacom International, Inc." at the end of the credits. This means that the episode was produced in 2003.
