"Billion Dollar Boy" is the second segment of the 18th episode from season two of The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.

Synopsis[]

The episode starts when it's Jimmy vs. Cindy in a kite competition battle. Jimmy defeats Cindy in the Semi Finals. Then it's Jimmy against Eustace Strych, an extremely rich and snobby boy. At the end of the kite battle, Eustace is defeated, and Jimmy wins the battle trophy. Eustace invites Jimmy and his friends to his house, which Jimmy refuses at first, but eventually only comes because of Cindy. Also, Hugh deems it rude for Jimmy not to accept. Little do they know that this is part of an evil plan for Eustace to get back at Jimmy.

At Eustace's house, Eustace starts giving everyone various gifts; a holographic boy band for Libby, an Ultra Lord power glove for Sheen, a cloned mini llama for Carl, his grandmother's gold locket for Cindy, and used gym shorts for Jimmy as a mean joke, which makes him very angry as everyone laughs at him.

Meanwhile, Hugh is having Purple Flurp with Eustace's dad, who admits that he is a horrible dad, who lives in fear of his son and has no idea of how to raise kids. Hugh gives Mr. Strych a few pointers, most notably setting limits and continues after the camera goes back to Jimmy, with Hugh and Mr. Strych having a burp contest.

Because of Jimmy's jealousy, Eustace tells everybody to clink their drinks for belittling Jimmy again and an enraged Jimmy fires a laser at Eustace's drink and pretends he did it on accident. Eustace challenges Jimmy to a robot battle and telling Jimmy, he doesn't have the guts to challenge Goddard against Eustace's "RA Multi-Unit", a robotic cat. Eustace then, of course, starts clucking at Jimmy and makes Cindy cluck along to hurt Jimmy. Out of anger, Jimmy foolishly bets Goddard, because of Cindy clucking.

The robot pets' fight begins when Goddard takes out an antenna-like weapon. To everyone's surprise, the robot cat takes out the exact same weapon. When he sees this, Jimmy instantly deduces that Eustace's robot cat is a "Robot Adaptoid" that can copy any weapon, and hurl its power back tenfold. Jimmy orders Goddard to run from the adaptoid via flying away, but the adaptoid begins to fly, as well. Goddard then attacks the adaptoid with lasers from its eyes; the adaptoid simply does the same thing, causing Goddard to fall out of the sky.

Jimmy realizes what he must do to win the battle, and tells Goddard to "play dead", and Goddard does so via blowing himself up. Eustace's adaptoid "plays dead" as well via blowing itself up, creating an explosion even larger than Goddard's. Goddard then reassembles himself. However, since Eustace never programmed his adaptoid with a way to reassemble itself, it remains destroyed and Jimmy wins the battle.

Infuriated, Eustace promises to pursue Jimmy with never ending the vengeance. However, his father steps in, having taken Hugh's advice to heart, and gives his son a "time-out" by allowing Eustace's butler to send Eustace to his room so he can think about what he has done. Jimmy apologizes to Goddard for betting him.

Trivia[]

  • This is the second time Jimmy gets jealous instead of Cindy. The first was "Out, Darn Spotlight", and the third will be Jimmy Timmy Power Hour 2: When Nerds Collide!.
    • Coincidentally, all episodes feature Betty Quinlan (the third episode having the character appear as a cameo, and the first having her appear officially).
  • This is the first time Jimmy beats Cindy in a contest. The second will be in "Lights, Camera, Danger!".
  • This is the second time characters briefly flirt with a villain, the first was Operation: Rescue Jet Fusion, where Jimmy, Carl, and Sheen briefly flirted with Beautiful Gorgeous.
  • This is the only time in the show where Goddard plays dead, outside regularly in the movie and video games.
  • We learn that Cindy can do animal impressions.
  • This episode shows that Purple Flurp is a very large and popular brand with many products, not limited to soda.
  • The holographic boy band is playing the same song by the Men Pretending to be Boys in "Party at Neutron's".
  • The Robot Adaptoid may be a reference to the Super Adaptoid, a villainous robot from Marvel Comics.
  • Both as guests at the kite competition battle, Betty Quinlan makes a cameo in the first sense of Cindy and Libby flirting with Eustace, and Captain Betty makes a cameo in second sense of it happening with Cindy says "I don't care about his money, we have a lot of common, he just likes you almost as much as I do.".
  • This is the first episode that Bolbi appears as a background cameo, as well appearing without Principal Willoughby.
  • This is the second time Cindy and Libby flirt with another male character. The first was "Make Room for Daddy-O".
    • Coincidentally, both episodes have Hugh star in the episode and feature Betty Quinlan in a cameo.
  • This and "The Mighty Wheezers" are the last Season 2 episodes in production order.
  • This is the first appearance of Eustace Strych.
