Best in Show is the second half of eighteenth episode of season three.

It is also notable for being the last episode to air. However, the last episode produced is "The League of Villains".

Plot[]

Jimmy enters Goddard in a pet contest, and because he's a machine rather than an organic flesh and blood dog, he gets disqualified. Feeling humiliated and sorry, Goddard runs away from home. Jimmy, Carl, and Sheen try to find him. Jimmy sees Cindy in danger and tells Goddard to run the "Rescue Mode." Thus, he saves Cindy from a specific car accident, and everybody is forced to apologize to Goddard, and Jimmy eventually wins the pet contest.

Trivia[]

  • Contestant cameos in this episode include Grandma Taters and her cat Mr. Fluffy, Rayburn, Chip, and his pet monkey, The Junkman and his dog Roxy, a horse who resembles the one Ms. Fowl rides in "Foul Bull", and a monkey.
  • The scene where Goddard is shown imagining Willoughby's voice playing in his head before it is revealed that he's actually standing outside the window repeating himself mimics the scene in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie where Patrick says "Never mind the car, where's the road... road... road..." repeating the word road until he apologizes for it.
  • This is the only episode to focus on Goddard.
  • This episode is similar to the book Goddard, Come Home!.
  • Tedo the Worm later appeared in When Nerds Collide, when Cosmo was looking for someone just like him to turn into a fairy and free Cindy, Jimmy, and Timmy, before finding Sheen in his "leg behind head" pose from "Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen" and with Tedo. He even says "DANCE, TEDO, DANCE!" just like he did in this episode.
  • This is the second time Goddard got disqualified from an event. The first was in "Win, Lose and Kaboom!".
    • Unlike this episode, it didn't focus on him getting disqualified.
  • This is the last episode of the series to air before getting cancelled by Nickelodeon.
  • A Twonkie can be seen on the Junkman’s shoulder as Yuri is playing music.
  • Libby, Hugh, and Judy are absent in this episode.
    • This is also the last episode where they are absent.
  • Running Gag: Whenever Bolbi's pet Billy goat Yuri plays two flutes with his nose, Butch always sprinkles pepper into his nose. This understandably causes Yuri to sneeze and the two flutes end up hitting Willoughby in the eyes.
  • Billy West (despite being uncredited) voices Carl's Larry the Llama toy using the same voice used to portray the titular character of the Nicktoon Doug.
  • This is the final appearance for Goddard, Jimmy, Cindy, and Carl in airing order.
  • Although this episode was released in 2006, you can actually see "Copyright 2003 Viacom International, Inc." at the end of the credits. This means that the episode was produced in 2003.
